Phillip Jones was born and raised in East Oakland, California. He graduated valedictorian from Castlemont High School in 2011. 

He attended the University of California, Berkeley, and received his Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare in 2015.

As a product of Oakland, California, Philip was driven to return to his community and serves as a Care Manager and Athletic Director.
